Subject: Preventive Measures Related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) #3
This is a follow-up to the Payap University announcement on the COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures issued on 25 February 2020 and the subsequent announcement (#2) issued on 3 March 2020.
COVID-19 has been designated as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) which means that it has spread worldwide. Thailand has not been immune and expects to see more and more cases in the short and medium term. Payap University is acutely aware of this and is extremely concerned about the health and welfare of its faculty, staff, and students. Therefore, it is prudent that the university issue guidance to minimize the spread of the coronavirus. This includes protective measures intended to reduce the risk of exposure and infection. As Payap is a teaching university accustomed to close interaction between faculty and students, Payap wants to ensure that we do our best to both limit the risk of contracting COVID and still function as an institution of higher learning. This announcement is meant to provide further guidance to minimize both exposure and infection:

Preventive Measures Related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Subject: Operational Protocol for the Period March 18 – 31, 2020 and Summer Semester 2019/20
The number one priority of Payap University is the health and safety of university faculty, staff, and students, as well as visitors to the campus. Due to the global pandemic COVID-19 and with updated information regarding transmission and exposure, Payap University is implementing new guidelines to ensure that all Payap personnel are protected from possible exposure and infection. This announcement will be effective immediately and will cover the period 18-31 March 2020. Future operational protocols will be announced as required.
This announcement seeks to provide guidance on how to minimize the risk of virus exposure while ensuring that Payap personnel are still able to complete their duties in an effective manner. It includes protective actions to minimize exposure to the virus and also provides assistance to instructors in preparing course of instruction during this period. It also includes protective actions for Payap University support staff. The following operational protocol is hereby announced and shall be implemented during the period March 18-31, 2020 which includes the summer semester of the 2019/20 Academic Year.
