This year Payap University and Mae Jo University are hosts of the 7th inter-varsity Sports Tournament going on from March 10 to April 7, 2017. There are 12 Chiang Mai higher education institutions competing in two sports: men’s football and women’s volleyball. The football games are being played at Mae Jo while the volleyball games are at Payap. The institutions are divided into 2 divisions. Payap University is in division 2.
The results so far for the football contests have Payap on top with first place in the division after three games and three wins. There are several games left to play. On March 28 at 4 p.m. Payap will play against Mahamakutrajawitalai University on the Mae Jo football field.
Our women’s volleyball team has wrapped up 4 wins in 4 games and holds first place in the division. They will play for the championship against Mahachulalongkornrajawitayalai University on Tuesday, March 28 at 6 p.m. in the Saithantham arena on our main campus. I want to invite all students and personnel to help cheer our athletes. Maybe, if our cheering section is large enough the players will feel inspired to win the championship for us.
