Advice from the Alumni

On September 17 Payap University invited 6 alumni who have been successful in business to meet with the university executive committee so we could hear their ideas and suggestions about how the university should operate.  We especially wanted to hear about ways of producing graduates to meet the needs of society and developing the university’s resources to the best advantage.  The university thanks these 6 alums for generously giving up their valuable time to make suggestions of many kinds that will be of benefit.

The alumni felt that it was important for the university to emphasize producing graduates who are “sharp” rather than “clever”.  This means cultivating students to be ready to create jobs in every vocational area.  When they graduate, students should be able to take charge of various activities.  So, in providing instruction the university should provide maximum opportunities for students to have hands-on experience.  And we need to spark their originality.  In this regard, the alums are ready to be invited to be special presenters about how they have achieved success so that the new generation can hear directly from those who have experience.  The alums were certain that every department has successful alumni in several areas who are ready to cooperate with the university.  I feel this suggestion is of utmost importance to be implanted.  So I ask every person who is responsible for a program to consider this suggestion.
